Susan Silver
Susan Silver, MBA, MA, LCPC

Susan is a Gottman Institute-trained couples specialist who also treats adults in every stage of life, helping them understand themselves better and feel more balanced, healthy, and confident. She specializes in helping people transition through and face the challenges and rewards related to: dating, marriage, and bringing children into their lives, as well as in career changes, affairs, divorce, illness, and bereavement. Susan also has extensive experience in family advocacy, including adoption, surrogacy, learning differences, and disability.

Susan works to help clients make sense of their relationships, emotions, and their changing view of the world. She employs a variety of methods, often combining multiple schools of thought in order to best serve her clients. She serves whatever role her clients need – a sounding board, a champion, or a supportive presence. Her goal is to create a warm, collaborative, empathetic, and genuine environment that is conducive to drawing out insight and inviting change.

Susan earned her master’s degree in Community Counseling from Argosy University in Chicago and an MBA in Organizational and Psychological Behavior from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Her clinical fellowships included roles in trauma, abuse, and the LGBTQI community.

In her free time, Susan is a presenter and mentor for Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project. She volunteers for a number of non-profits, while also serving as the founder of the Illinois Chapter of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. She enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, snowshoeing, playing tennis, watching movies, and learning new languages.

Jeffrey Samuels
Jeffrey Samuels, LCSW

Jeffrey is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. He is experienced in addressing a variety of clinical issues, including: depression, trauma, anxiety, grief, relationship dynamics, life transitions, and diminished self-esteem.

Jeffrey follows a relationship-focused approach, developing a strong, trusting, nonjudgmental and empathetic connection between himself and his clients. He subscribes to a strong belief that clients are the experts of their own lives and that therapy works best when individuals feel empowered and supported to reach the goals they identify as most important. He incorporates a range of clinical tools, including narrative therapy and, with younger clients, play therapy.

After earning a Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University in Chicago, Jeffrey worked in multiple community mental health agencies, providing therapy to both children and their families. He also has extensive experience helping young adults adjust to life transitions such as changes in living situations, school and work life.

In his free time, Jeffrey enjoys traveling, hiking, watching movies, and taking his dog, Ernie, on walks around Chicago.

Alexandra Milbourn
Alexandra Milbourn, LCPC

Alexandra Milbourn is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor working with adults, adolescents and children experiencing distress or conflict that interferes with their quality of life. Her clinical areas of strength include complex trauma, adjustment difficulties, relationship difficulties, anxiety, and mood disorders. Alexandra is passionate  about creating a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space, while providing authenticity that humanizes the vulnerable experience of therapy. Her therapeutic approach is integrative and holistic in nature, wherein she focuses on the cohesion between the mind and the body. Alexandra makes use of evidence-based practices such as: trauma-informed, person-centered psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral therapies, tailored to meet the unique needs of her clients.

Alexandra earned her Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and her undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Criminology from Florida State University. She brings clinical experience in private practice and the inpatient setting, alike, experiences that provided her opportunities to treat diverse populations that included children, adolescents, and adults, all of whom presented with a wide range of mental health concerns and diagnoses. These experiences shaped Alexandra’s appreciation for psychotherapeutic intervention and prevention across the lifespan, and the particular role that psychotherapy plays in the capacity to strengthen emotional regulation and healthy connections  for children and adolescents. Alexandra approaches psychotherapy with adults with a trauma-informed lens and has received supervised training in sex therapy. Additionally, Alexandra’s education and training include forensic-based services and insight into mental health challenges within the justice system.

In her free time, Alexandra enjoys trying new restaurants, yoga, running, traveling, walks along the lakefront and spending time with friends and family.

Rebecca Lebovitz
Rebecca Lebovitz, M.Ed., LPC

Rebecca Lebovitz is a psychotherapist working at Wellington Counseling Group. She recently earned her M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from DePaul University and is certified in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention by the Crisis Prevention Institute. Rebecca received her undergraduate education at the University of Maryland, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in general biology..

Rebecca brings to her role experience working with children, adolescents, their families, and adult clients in clinical areas such as school-refusal, depression, complex anxiety, and low self-esteem. Rebecca takes an Existential and Cognitive Behavioral approach to therapy, aiming to empower her clients to regain their sense of control through building an individualized toolkit of coping skills they can utilize in and out of sessions. Rebecca works collaboratively with her clients to create a therapeutic space that is curious, nurturing, and safe, all necessary ingredients for pursuing lasting growth and self-understanding.

In her free time, Rebecca loves spending time with her family and friends, trying new restaurants around Chicago, sketching, reading, and finding new TV shows to binge!

Cressie Goode, M.Ed., LCPC
Cressie Goode, M.Ed., LCPC

Cressie Goode is a psychotherapist who works with young adults and adults, both virtually and in person at our Lakeview and River North offices. Cressie obtained her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from DePaul University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Cressie’s areas of clinical focus include work with individuals—especially women—who are experiencing relational conflict, family discord, childhood or more recent trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and lifestyle transitions. She also assists individuals who are exploring LGBTQIA+ identities with a rare degree of cultural awareness. In her treatment, Cressie primarily utilizes Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) techniques and attachment theory to guide treatment with her clients and is a committed believer in the healing power of relationships. She is also trained in EMDR – a research-backed modality that utilizes bilateral stimulation to help process trauma that we feel is ‘stuck’ in our brains and in our bodies. Cressie believes the key to effective and useful therapy is the strength of the relationship between client and therapist, and builds a strong rapport with clients to make sure each of them feels heard, cared for, and understood. 

Cressie graduated with her bachelor’s degree at the University of Iowa, majoring in psychology and creative writing. Cressie believes art can be a great therapeutic tool and draws upon her own artistic educational background by introducing reading and writing exercises into her work with clients in innovative ways.

In her free time, Cressie enjoys attending yoga classes, hanging out with loved ones, and visiting local restaurants. She has two cats named Freckles and Mac, who you may see pop up in your next telehealth session!

Michael Feinstein, Psy.D.
Michael Feinstein, Psy.D.

Dr. Michael Feinstein works with adolescents and adults, offering psychological treatment for a wide variety of presenting concerns. His area of specialty is trauma/PTSD and enjoys providing EMDR therapy to individuals in his care. Other areas of specialty for Dr. Feinstein include anxiety, depression, addiction, identity development & exploration, self-esteem & self-worth development, interpersonal & familial conflict, and life transitions. Dr. Feinstein also provides psychological evaluations.

Dr. Feinstein’s approach to therapeutic practice is primarily rooted in humanistic and Person-Centered philosophies, utilizing a modern Rogerian style that emphasizes empathy, empowerment, and personal exploration. He frequently incorporates approaches from modalities such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), existentialism, and psychodynamic concepts, as well. Dr. Feinstein’s philosophy for therapeutic practice is that everything brought to therapy is rich in meanings that can be explored and understood, no matter how distressing or puzzling it may appear to others. He aims to create a supportive, safe, and welcoming environment where such an exploration can take place and healing can begin to unfold. Throughout therapy, Dr. Feinstein strives to maintain a deep commitment to accurately understand you and your lived experiences, respect your autonomy, and empower individuals to live a more peaceful and personally meaningful life.

Dr. Feinstein is a graduate of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where he earned a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. He has experience treating individuals from across the lifespan throughout a wide variety of settings. These include private practice, community mental health centers, nonprofit agencies, college counseling centers, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and crisis centers.

In his free time, Dr. Feinstein likes to stay active and frequently rides his bike along the lakefront and attends yoga and Pilates classes. He also enjoys playing video games, boardgames, seeing live music, exploring the local restaurant scene, and watching sports.
