Graduate Level Therapist

Julia Giacomin believes that therapy should be a place where people feel safe to slow down, show up as themselves, and explore life’s challenges without judgment. She values the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for meaningful change and strives to create a warm, collaborative environment where clients can better understand themselves, develop new perspectives, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

Julia enjoys working with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity development, life transitions, grief and loss, relationship concerns, friendship breakups, and sports- or performance-related concerns and aspirations. She is passionate about helping clients who may be feeling stuck, lonely, overwhelmed, or uncertain and believes that every individual has the capacity for growth, resilience, and healing.

Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and tailored to each client’s unique experiences and goals. Drawing from narrative therapy, existential/humanistic approaches, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Julia works alongside clients to explore the stories that have shaped their lives, recognize patterns that may no longer be serving them, and build practical tools for lasting change. She believes therapy is not about having all the answers, but about creating space for curiosity, self-compassion, and meaningful personal growth.

Julia earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and is currently pursuing her doctorate in clinical psychology (Psy.D.) at Adler University-Chicago. As a graduate student psychotherapist, she is honored to support clients through life’s challenges and considers it a privilege to be part of each person’s journey toward greater self-understanding, resilience, and connection.
